WELCOME TO MY ART

All artists say painting is a passion; it sits with you daily, follows you to bed, only to be there in the morning. You can't hide from the need to express, create, explore and improve. You get excited by a new brush or starting a new canvas, experimenting and finding new ways to express with paint.

It is a 24/7 lifestyle, it's exhausting, thrilling and downright frustrating.

So when someone likes your work, when it connects and creates an emotional reaction, it becomes all worthwhile, it gives the drive to carry on, and when you sell your piece, even the ones you are attached to, knowing it will hang on their wall for years to come, then that really is the cherry on the cake. Acknowledgement is accreditation.

I'm happy to talk about my work, answer questions or just chat about "art".

I love a commission and find that's where I do my best work. I'm also lucky

to be represented by The Langham Gallery, supported by the lovely

Dominic Reay.

Thank you for visiting my work. Every visit counts.

Royal Society of Marine Artists | Annual Exhibition 2025

Sept 17th - 27th 2025

I entered the RSMA 80th Annual Exhibition as I often paint the sea and beach scenes, so I was delighted when Kilve Beach - Somerset, was selected. It will sit alongside some of the very best contemporary maritime and seaworthy works from member artists, as well as some of the best talents today selected from an open submission. This exhibition covers a diverse range of maritime subjects, and marine artists interpret those subjects in many different ways. I'm excited and proud to be a part of this exhibition. Thank you, The RSMA.

About the Society

In 1937, an exhibition entitled Sea Power took place at the New Burlington Galleries. This led to the formation of the Society of Marine Artists, whose inaugural exhibition opened at the Guildhall Gallery in 1946. In 1966, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granted the word Royal to be included in its title. Since 1981, RSMA exhibitions have taken place at the Mall Galleries.

Wells Art Contemporary

Ullswater Memory - A Wish was chosen by Wells Art Contemporary, an international competition showcasing innovative visual art across all genres. It was established in 2012, offering a unique opportunity to exhibit in the magnificent setting of Wells Cathedral, the first Gothic cathedral in England. Welcoming 18,000 monthly visitors, this has been a wonderful opportunity to showcase my work. The 2025 exhibition will run from 8 October to 1 November 2025.

Ullswater Memory captures a moment in time, an emotion, a fleeting image of the past. My daughter moving through the space, my memory of happiness and the pride I felt. It portrays the physical and the emotional state at a point in time. We are no longer there but the landscape is, the sheep still graze the field, we were fleeting entity, passing through leaving no trace but a memory of having loved and visited.

Wells Art Contemporary 2025 exhibition will run from 8 October to 1 November 2025.
