Chesil Beach Portland End
500 x 500mm | Acrylic on Canvas
It's a hot day the colours are singing. The view from the hill walk scatters the eye. A jumble of life sits tightly side by side waiting for the visitors to arrive. The Fleet is locked in stillness tired from fighting the land that has it captured now settled and resigned. Beach shingle rises centre stage soaking up the sun.
As it curves upwards to the horizon, distance dictates and it gently fades away.

Running River
Acrylic on Board | 500 x 500mm
The river flows from its source to its end.
From the craggy hills, the river moves through the landscape, carving away land on its journey. Skirting woods, through fields, passing by and under manmade restrictions until it is softened by sand and silt as it joins the sea. Marshes edge the beach and boats sit in a dock waiting to be connected by an undulating tributary. The river has only one goal, its steady flow while life all around goes on despite it.

The lake shares its shore with the boathouse balancing on the brink of its water. A gate waits for the first joy seekers, the boats bob in anticipation, as a Wren rests before starting its day.
