Gulls eggs Camber Sands

900 x 900mm | Acrylic on Canvas | 2022
The swim was Claire's idea. A busy moon pulled the tide and coax her forward. Gulls eggs waited for warmth protected by the grasses arms as still dunes prepared for the day's wind. The sea was cold, engulfing. She tingled feeling uplifted and then contentment, her goal achieved.

South Downs Dusk

500 x 500mm | Acrylic on Canvas | 2022

The sun nodded goodbye to the horizon and gifted it the last of its light. Knitted fields acknowledge the dusk ready for the night shift. Tiny lights flicker, a hint of evening life sitting snug and tight.

Towards Box Hill

500 x 500mm | Acrylic on Canvas | 2022

We rested overlooking young grape vines as we watched rain in distant fall like rods from the sky. Tempted by Box Hill, strong and proud, the land spread ahead of us encouraging us to continue our walk, the view had persuaded us to pause.

North Downs with Sheep

Despite the cloud, the sun shows it's light through the blue of the sky. Sheep graze oblivious to the fresh hay. Trees look on as habitats embrace and boundaries kiss, whispering their vows to nature's landscape.

Camber Sands 3

300 x 300mm | Acrylic on Canvas | 2022

It had rained in the night, the grasses sat up, yawned with their neighbours and greeted the day. An unsettled sea moved with the tide, it sensed it would calm as the day moved on.

Mighty and proud mountains defeat gravity as streams give in, falling through worn crags and ancient ways.

Camber Sands
600 x 600mm | Acrylic on Canvas | 2021

The shifting sands try to hide the sea protecting it from unwanted attention. The moon lifts its head, waves greet the shore, and soothe away the day's wear and tear.

It’s quiet now, the dunes nod to the coastline and settle down for the start of night's peace.

November Lincolnshire Wolds with Ram
900 x 900mm | Acrylic on Canvas | 2021

As autumn advances nature is looking forward to its rest. In one last show, November colours compete for attention. The village hunkers down, fields lie fallow, leaves turn and the meadow dries slowly. A ram chews, head down contented and oblivious to the glorious hues.

Lincolnshire Wolds with fox
1000 x 1000mm | Acrylic on Canvas

The evening is settling in as the moon slowly rises. The land is calm, each allotted space hugs its neighbour, the intention to support its weight. The village is tight and safe sitting within the canopy of trees. The first twilight fox moves through the grass, with its head is down and nose to the earth, trying not to be seen.

SOLD

Lincolnshire Wolds with Pheasant

1000 x 1000mm | Acrylic on Canvas

We stopped by the roadside edge to stretch our legs, to rest and take in the view. The gentle breeze swayed the grass, earthy scents spoke of freshly ploughed fields, damp trees and freshened grass.
The working farm had finished its day and nestled itself into the land. A pheasant fed, quiet and safe. We watched it for a while, until our eyes wandered, distracted by the view, green and expansive. It is good to be coming home.

SOLD

Arran Sheep in landscape

600 x 600mm | Acrylic on Canvas

A farm sits, hugged by its land. Upright and yellow the cornfields wait for the nearing harvest. Trees line a hidden stream running freely under their canopy, it reaches the top of the hill until dropping down out of view. A lone sheep looks back at its flock, heavy with wool, its future displayed on its coat. Fields sit on top of each other interlinking to the sky.

Gliders View

My spirits lifted as I took flight to flight, 300 feet over Dunstable Downs glider club. I looked ahead, the National Trust land stretched out touching Whipsable on the horizon. Patchwork land knitted together, kissing boundaries of the land. Take flight, feel free and smile.

Chesil Beach Portland End

500 x 500mm | Acrylic on Canvas

It's a hot day the colours are singing. The view from the hill walk scatters the eye. A jumble of life sits tightly side by side waiting for the visitors to arrive. The Fleet is locked in stillness tired from fighting the land that has it captured now settled and resigned. Beach shingle rises centre stage soaking up the sun.
As it curves upwards to the horizon, distance dictates and it gently fades away.

Running River
Acrylic on Board | 500 x 500mm

The river flows from its source to its end.
From the craggy hills, the river moves through the landscape, carving away land on its journey. Skirting woods, through fields, passing by and under manmade restrictions until it is softened by sand and silt as it joins the sea. Marshes edge the beach and boats sit in a dock waiting to be connected by an undulating tributary. The river has only one goal, its steady flow while life all around goes on despite it.
